Another Police Cover-Up in Pelham: Weapons and Grenades Missing

Another Police Cover-Up in Pelham: Weapons and Grenades Missing
April 19, 2013

A stock pile of evidence, including military tear gas grenades and an Army shoulder-fired M79 grenade launcher- items formerly safe-guarded by the Pelham Manor police department- are missing.

The incredible allegations were revealed many months ago, but only recently has confirmation of the troubling event been advanced, according to sources familiar with the inquiry.

The allegations involve the Pelham Manor Police Chief, Al Mosiello, and his boss, Village Manager John T. Pierpont.

Undocumented workers were reportedly employed to clean out the basement of the Pelham Manor Police Department.  Apparently unknown to the undocumented workers, the items included explosive evidence.  At some point, an Army shoulder-fired M79 grenade launcher and a cache of military grade tear gas grenades were moved by the workers to an outside area adjacent to the police station, and from where the items disappeared.

More alarming, however, is the allegation that Mosiello and Pierpont failed to report, as required, the missing firearms and explosives to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (the "ATF").

The ATF is a federal law enforcement organization within the United States Department of Justice and is charged with investigating and preventing federal offenses involving the unlawful use, trafficking and control of firearms and explosives.  In 2001, the ATF initiated "Project Safe Neighborhoods," an initiative apparently unknown to the top administrators of the Pelham Manor Police Department.

Inquiries are on-going.........

  2. You people have to remember that police chief Mosiello does EVERYTHING that he is told to do by Pierpont. The decision to not advise ATF and the NYS police about the missing explosives was made by John Pierpont. At first Mosiello wanted to report it, but since he's a wimp and Pierpont's lapdog, he decided to do the wrong thing and say nothing. Just like Pierpont ordered. Mosiello knew it was wrong not to write up missing weapons/explosives and to not report it. Of course, the board wasn't told the full story either. It's your typical Pierpont cover-up. But this time someone might actually get hurt with those explosives. You have to wonder how Pierpont sleeps at night. I agree that he should be living in a prison cell. I'm glad I don't pay Pelham Manor taxes. Every taxpayer should know that you have a village manger to tells the top law enforcement officer (the police chief) to routinely break the law. AND THE POLICE CHIEF THEN GOES AHEAD AND BREAKS THE LAW !!
Yes, your tax dollars at work.

  3. The frauds of Pierpont need to be examined very closely. The man is out of control. Many excellant employees (cops, fireman and DPW workers, clerks) have been pushed out by Pierpont's tactics. Most were threatend with some crap and forced to leave. The moral is terrible why, and the potential liability for the village is off the charts. Most workers get paid well and they like their job. They like the residents but hate Pierpont because it is impossible to work when you may be the next person to be forced out. Pierpont wants complete control of everything. Pierpont hand picks his puppets and gets rid of the employees who don't totally agree with his dictatorship. People get confused- as a village employee you are to serve the residents- NOT serve Pierpont.

  4. Don't kid yourself. Mosiello may be a spineless coward but he is just as guilty as pierpont. He has NEVER BEEN AND NEVER WILL BE A COP,so he takes his pierpont guilt out on his men. He is the worst kind of person u can imagine.

  5. Has anyone ever asked Pierpont or the police chief if they receive any kickbacks?

  6. It's a toss up on who's more spineless: Pierpont or Mosiello. Etiher one will spill the beans on the other. So I guess it depends on who the feds approach first.

  7. All the feds have to do is subpoena all the current pelham manor officers and a few dozen of the former cops. The truth would SHOCK pelham manor residents. Pierpont has been running an organized crime operation. Let John Pierpont explain how he came into all the money he has (yes, John, people know how you launder you illgotten gains.)
